Mixed media Illustration on grey cardboard. Done in watercolor, gouache, greasesticks and colored pencil.
Thistles were allover the countryside where i grew up, and this illustration plays up their royal and intimidating appearance, even when they are percieved to be an unwanted pest by most people. The character of the illustration is wielding the weed as a scepter and walking through the stems as a gate.
