Glazed stoneware ceramic wallhanging utilizing experimental glazing where I handpainted with dipglazes and used wax to create negative space in the image.
Prickly and unruly, thistles are my favourite type of weeds that can be found in Denmark. I remember when I was growing up in the countryside, the thistles could grow as tall as me, and would be the most intimidating part of any outdoors excursion, since Denmark has no dangerous animals or plants to speak of.
As an adult, I have found beauty in the pointy plant, that is both rough and soft, tough and pretty.
