Gate to Eternity

The frame of this piece was done using layered brown felt. The illustration depicts two demonic angel-like figures that hover around a medieval gate where stark, orange light floods out of.
The figures are gesturing twoards the door, that is tempting by being slightly opened. One of the angels are holding a piece of wood on fire, to light the way. In the background, paper is swirling in the wind.
It was inspired by my past feeling of death being a solution to suffering.
